The gallery "Pishvanova Artists"

The gallery "Pishvanova Artists" is an exhibition platform in the living room of an apartment in Munich's art district, in the midst of galleries and museums. It serves as an art space to showcase the work of the Pishvanova artists in a space that offers a way to understand the story behind their work. The painter Paul Klee lived in the house where the gallery is located. And not so far away lived Marianne von Werefkin and Alexej Jawlensky, two artists who, like the Pishvanova family, had come to Munich from Russia.
These links provide ideas for discussion. We encourage visitors to ask questions, be curious and open-minded given the contradictory nature of the artworks. It is very interesting how the animal portraits found their place among such diverse works. The Animal Century Art C ollection is proof that clothed animal paintings aren't just a pop culture phenomenon - they can be real works of art!

Our gallery is open to visitors every day and we warmly welcome you! However, the number of visitors is limited and we ask that you register using our form . You can also email us or call us on +49 176 218 253 94. Take the opportunity to admire the Animal Century portraits and other artworks by the Pishvanova Artists in a private atmosphere.

From time to time we also organize vernissages and talks where we would love to talk to you about art, fashion and animals!

Let the portraits inspire you - we encourage our visitors to share with us what you think the stories behind the portraits are, we even have a guest book where you can write your stories! We're also giving you a chance to learn more about the history of art and fashion, as well as the over 100 dog and cat breeds portrayed for Animal Century.

In our gallery you can buy art prints of each portrait from the collections in different sizes. We can also recommend which frames and matting would best suit your favorite art print. Large or small art prints, with or without a passe-partout - turn your home into a royal gallery!

ANIMAL CENTURY MUSEUM

The ANIMAL CENTURY MUSEUM is located in the mysterious Bavarian Forest, surrounded by beautiful nature and fairytale stories. Together with the apartment gallery “Pishvanova Artists” in Munich they are the home for the Animal Century Art collection. With the changing exhibitions, we give you a unique opportunity to experience and learn more about the Animal Century Portraits in the original. Visit the unique permanent exhibition "The Cat Artists" and shop for art prints of the portraits.
